Blown to Bits
Hello and Happy Friday to you. I’ve been out on a family road trip, so my writing and rehearsing routine has been blown to bits. I had a couple of good ideas for today’s post, one about our recent visit to The Stanley Hotel in Colorado (famous for being the inspiration behind Stephen King’s The Shining) but I just didn’t have the time or space to put it together. I’m just glad I didn’t get lost in the hedge maze (inspired by the movie) out front. So I’m just checking in to say hey, and I’ll get back to my regular posts next week. Thanks for reading and please check out our summer schedule below. - Mick

What I’m listening to:
Listened through the 28 song David Lowry (singer-songwriter from the bands Cracker and Camper Van Beethoven) autobiographical album called Fathers, Sons, and Brothers. Very inspirational story teller.
What I’m reading:.
I picked up an older edition of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain (1940s) with illustrations. Love me a picture book. Been awhile since I read this one so giving it another go.
My next read: Heartwood by Amity Gaige

That's a well named hotel, the one in Colorado. I actually once stayed at the Stanley Hotel in Nairobi on my one visit to Africa--and have the stationary to prove it. I heard Cracker not too many years ago at a St. Louis festival, wasn't aware Lowry was in Camper V Beethoven too. Looking forward to a song next Friday. . .
